Assessment Approach
Depending on the question, the work may include review of drawings/history, visual inspection, crack/distress mapping, dimensional verification, targeted NDT/material testing, foundation investigation, load assessment and structural analysis. The scope should be proportionate to the uncertainty and consequence of the decision.
A certificate should not be treated as a substitute for missing evidence. Where hidden conditions or capacities cannot be established from visual inspection, further investigation may be recommended.
